Job Title: Workshop Assistant

Salary: £13/hr.

Hours: 32 hrs/week

Working Pattern: Mon-Thurs 8.30am - 4.30pm, 

Location: Cockburn Farm Workshops Studio 1, Balerno, Edinburgh

Immediate Start, Three months probation period

Welcome to Ceotha, where we create gorgeous handfasting cords for weddings! Our tight-knit workshop is buzzing with creativity, and as we grow, we're on the lookout for an assistant to help.

What We Need:

We're looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Workshop Assistant to support the production of our bespoke handfasting cords. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands, thrives in a creative environment, and takes pride in being part of a small, friendly team. Our business is growing, and we are recognized for making some of the most intricate handfasting cords available—this is your chance to be part of something special!

Your Role:

As a Workshop Assistant, your focus will be on efficiency, organization, and supporting the crafting process. While the role is not primarily creative, it requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship. You will play a vital role in keeping production running smoothly.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Cutting and preparing materials to ensure a seamless production process.

  • Helping with finishing touches, such as threading ribbons and assembling final details.

  • Packing up orders with care to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.

  • Assisting with photography of materials and color combinations for customer approval.

  • Supporting the team in maintaining a well-organized and efficient workspace.

What We're Looking For:

  • Someone with strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.

  • A team player who enjoys working in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

  • Ability to multi-task and keep up with the pace of production.

  • No prior experience in crafting is required, but an interest in artisan products and textiles is a plus.
